Theft from a vehicle includes property from inside the vehicle. The types of property stolen are stereo systems, cash, mobile phones, private number plates and satellite navigation systems are increasingly being targeted. Offenders are breaking into cars to find satellite navigation system when they are not visible. Offenders believe they can identify the presence of the units in vehicles by dashboard holders or suction cup marks, they break into vehicles and search the glove box. Removing dashboard holders and suction marks from vehicles can be an effective crime prevention method.
